Ian Higginson

As a noted freelance Cheltenham based conductor, composer and organist, Jubilate’s Musical Director, Ian Higginson has performed as a conductor and organist in concert halls, Cathedrals and Churches around Great Britain, America and Europe and has a large volume of music published both in the UK and the USA, which has attracted many excellent national reviews. Ian has received choral commissions including: Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Chorus and Orchestra, in addition to many church and cathedral choirs, the International Cheltenham Music Festival and choirs in Jersey and the USA.. Many of his compositions have been chosen as set pieces for various examination boards.  In 2006, Ian received an award from Cheltenham Arts Council in recognition of his work with choirs in the Cheltenham area

Three Counties School of Music (TCSM) which offers grade, performance & composition assessments in most musical disciplines around the world. 

Teaching. Tutor in Piano and Organ at St Edward’s School, Cheltenham, Sir William Romneys School Tetbury and Professor & Fellow of Sacred Music and Composition at the Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi University, USA, where he is currently tutoring conducting and composition on the Bachelor’s, Masters and doctoral courses.
